Safari Packing List

Wild World Serengeti Safari Guide Updated July 4, 2026 Local Tanzania Advice
Good safari packing is simple: choose comfortable layers, neutral colours, soft luggage, essential documents, and a few practical items that make long game drives easier.

Clothing

Pack lightweight neutral clothing in khaki, olive, beige, grey, or muted earth tones. Bring long sleeves for sun and insects, a warm layer for early mornings, and comfortable shoes for camp and short walks.

Documents And Money

Carry your passport, visa or e-visa confirmation, travel insurance, flight tickets, vaccination documents if required, emergency contacts, and some cash for tips or small purchases. Keep digital copies as backup.

Camera And Electronics

Bring spare batteries, memory cards, chargers, plug adapters, a power bank, lens cloth, and a dust-safe camera bag. Binoculars are very useful even if your guide has a pair.

Health And Comfort

Pack personal medication, sunscreen, insect repellent, lip balm, hand sanitiser, basic pain relief, rehydration salts, and any motion sickness support you may need.

Safari essentials

  • Soft-sided luggage where possible
  • Neutral clothing and warm morning layer
  • Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses
  • Binoculars and camera accessories
  • Personal medicine and travel insurance documents
  • Reusable water bottle

Wild World Serengeti Safaris note: Avoid overpacking. Laundry is available at many lodges, but may be limited in mobile camps or on short stays.
